Just some of the things to see and do

Take time out and just relax in the barn accommodation and enjoy the peace and quiet in a tranquil and secluded setting amidst the picturesque Suffolk countryside.

Go out with the dog horse or both. Hack out from the farm or take a drive to the forest or coast. Tunstall Forest is a part of the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty it is one our favourite places to hack and is very popular with walkers and horse riders. It consists of coniferous plantations, broadleaved belts and heathland areas which link up with both Tunstall and Blaxhall Common.

If you enjoy eating out in country pubs you will have plenty to choose from in the area and you can also sample beer from local breweries. We will be happy to suggest some of our favourites. The nearest pub is about 1.5 miles away but there are plenty of others a little further a field. Alternatively the beaches, forests and countryside are a great choice for enjoying a picnic.
Cretingham 18 hole Golf club is open to non members and is only 3 miles away. It is set in 165 of beautiful countryside and is a par 71 parkland course. The club house serves coffee and lunches.

Orford and Framlingham Castles are a short drive away. Framlingham Castle is a magnificent 12th century fortress with a long and colourful past which makes a fascinating day out. The castle was once the refuge of Mary Tudor before she became Queen in 1553 and visitors can now explore over 800 years of life at Framlingham Castle. Orford castle in the pretty coastal village of Orford dates back to the time of King Henry II. The castle has a unique polygonal tower keep.

The Suffolk Heritage Coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty is within a short drive. The many places to visit include Aldeburgh which is well known for its international music festival. It also hosts an annual regatta and carnival. There are interesting shops and places to eat including famous fish and chips which can be enjoyed on the beach. Another is Southwold a charming town with a pier and beach and home to the Adnams beer where you can take a tour of the brewery.

There's so much to see and hear at Minsmere: splendid woodland, wetland and coastal scenery, rare birds breeding and calling in on their migrations, shy wildlife like otters, the booming call of bitterns in spring, beautiful bugs and colourful wild flowers in summer. Whenever you visit, you'll find plenty to enjoy. Choose an idyllic walk or head to the coastal lagoons to see and impressive variety of birds. Be sure to keep an eye on the reedbeds too. Maybe you'll catch a glimpse of a shy otter?

We have a rubber manege for you to use to lunge or ride your horse during your stay.
Fancy a flutter? Newmarket in Suffolk is the home of horse of horseracing. There are lots of meetings during the flat season and during the Summer they hold 'Newmarket Nights' where you can enjoy a concert by famous acts after the racing has finished. Newmarket is also home to the National Horseracing Museum. In the winter you can go racing at Higham, Ampton or Marks Tey point to point courses.

Why not take a boat out at Dedham or Flatford and admire the scenery painted by John Constable and a tasty cream tea at the National Trust shop. Beautiful Constable country is about 20 miles away and is well worth a visit .

While your out enjoying yourselves your horse will be well looked after too.

Visit the Nature Trail and meet pigs, alpacas, sheep, goats, chickens, rheas, ferrets, guinea pigs and more. Build dens in the Woodland Walk and visit the Butterfly House, Farm Shop, Gardens and Restaurant.
